VMAs are Desperate for Attention

mtvWhat’s the point of the Video Music Awards when the Music Television Channel doesn’t even play music videos anymore???

Remember that girl in grade school that annoyed everyone, the girl that couldn’t stop talking, fidgeting or making some kind of noise.  “And you said, oh Becky is soooo desperate for attention.”  That’s how I feel about the VMA’s and most other highly regarded award shows.

mcOf course, Miley Cyrus wore some highly revealing clothing, while keeping those nipples tucked away.  Of course, Taylor Swift brought every single pretty face that was in her ridiculous “Bad Blood” music video.  Of course, Kanye West was honored with a lifetime achievement award, how else would they get Kimye there?

MTV is desperate for relevancy in this non-1980’s day and age.  So they say, let’s not play music videos anymore but milk the shit out of CatFish.  They say let’s have an award show about music videos but only focus on what Miley is wearing and the audience’s reactions all night.

MTV used to be about highlighting Miley-Cyrus-Crowdunknown talent and bringing their music to the masses.  Now MTV is about making a commercial for the highly industrialized, market researched, backed by billions type of mass produced, highly edited puppet that carries more of an image than any raw talent.

Maybe if MTV changed their name to the Teen & Twenties Channel, I wouldn’t be so disgusted.  Let’s say MTV died in 1997 and stop feeding this zombie vampire that it’s become today.

Yes, Nicki Minaj, bring your fake drama.  As if it wasn’t all pre-scripted to get people to watch you attention whores you!
